Nerland Agency, an Anchorage-based advertising agency, is presenting a First Friday poster show to celebrate the local arts community and raise funds for United Way’s annual Walk for Warmth event. The free show opens Friday, Feb. 3 from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Snow City Café.

The HOME Poster Show was created to celebrate the wide variety of artists here in Anchorage. Twenty local artists were selected to create limited handcrafted silk screens inspired by their definition of “home.” Proceeds from the show will benefit United Way’s Walk for Warmth, a fundraiser and advocacy event to support rental and utility assistance for struggling Anchorage families so they may stay housed and warm during the harsh winter months in Anchorage.

“HOME is inspired by how we individually define such a place or feeling,” said Kate Slyker, vice president account service and business development at Nerland Agency. “Each of us has in some way created a unique environment that represents a sacred physical space or refuge.”

Prints from the show will be available for purchase through March 1. For more information, visit Nerland Agency’s event page on Facebook: www.facebook.com/NerlandAgency.
