Kendall to Award $40,000
Anchorage, AK (February 9, 2012) – Last November, Kendall Automotive Group announced its Kendall Cares program, an ongoing initiative designed to give back and support the communities and customers Kendall serves. The first part of the Kendall Cares initiative solicited South central non-profits (registered 501(c) (3) organizations only) to apply or be nominated for a chance to be one of eight charities to win $5,000 each. Nominations were accepted online through www.KendallAutoAlaskaCares.com. Hundreds of applicants were reviewed and 40 finalists were selected.
The second phase of this initiative allowed the public to vote on the 40 finalists. Voting was done via Kendall Auto Alaska’s Facebook page and thousands of votes were cast over a two week period. The top eight charities receiving the most votes will each win $5,000.
The following eight charities received the most votes and will be presented with $5,000 at an event on Tuesday, February 14th at 9am at the Kendall Toyota/Lexus Dealership at 731 W. 5th Avenue:
1) Midnight Sun Service Dogs
2) Anchorage Community YMCA
3) Boys & Girls Club
4) The Duct Tape Ball
5) Abused Women’s Aid In Crisis (AWAIC)
6) Armed Services YMCA of Alaska
7) Junior Achievement of Alaska, Inc.
8) Friends of Pets
