“Day in Our Bay” to be Featured during KAKM-TV Spring Membership Drive

Anchorage, AK – Bristol Bay Native Corporation (BBNC) is proud to announce that “Day in Our Bay: Voices & Views from Bristol Bay” will air during KAKM PBS TV 7’s Spring Membership Drive on Monday, March 5 at 10:30 p.m., Saturday, March 10 at 9:30 p.m., and Monday, March 12 at 10:00 p.m. Other airtimes are likely to be announced at a later date.

The program will include an interview with BBNC President and CEO Jason Metrokin and “Day in Our Bay” Project Manager Sonya Senkowsky.

“Day in Our Bay” DVDs will be offered as thank you gifts to members who donate at or above the $75 level during the Spring Membership Drive—an annual two-week fund-raising event for the non-profit organization. Proceeds from the fund-raiser are used to support KAKM-TV programming.

The “Day in Our Bay” project began with a contest that put video cameras in the hands of BBNC shareholders living in the Bristol Bay region and challenged them to document what was most important and meaningful to them about the people, places, and cultures of their communities. All footage was shot in one day: October 15, 2011.

Sixty-two entries were received from all around the Bristol Bay region, as shareholders of all ages took part in this innovative competition. Entries were edited and compiled into a 15-minute film produced by Bristol Creative Services and Affinityfilms, Inc.
