Credit Union 1 Promotes Senior VP of Lending, VP of Consumer Loans, Member Assistance Manager and Account Recovery Manager
Anchorage, AK – February 17, 2012 – Credit Union 1 (CU1) is pleased to announce four major promotions: Deborah Casey as the Senior Vice President of Lending, Davina Napier as the Vice President of Consumer Loans, Brian Welch as the Member Assistance Manager and Brody Patton as Account Recovery Manager.
Senior Vice President of Lending
Casey has over 20 years experience, which includes heading CU1’s Member Assistance Department (collections and account recovery) since 1995. Casey is a member of the American Collectors Association, a certified Credit Union Financial Counselor and is certified with the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) as a consumer lender. She helped pioneer the Individual Development Accounts offered in conjunction with the Anchorage Urban League, and participated in the development of CU1’s Discover Financial Fitness program.
Assistant Vice Presient of Consumer Lending
Napier, with over 16 years of lending experience, has spent a majority of her career as the manager and then Assistant Vice President of Consumer Lending for CU1. Her ingenuity and initiative lead to the development of unique services such as in-house DMV processing and a streamlined lending platform. Additionally, Napier and Casey worked jointly to create the Discover Financial Fitness program, which provided fundamental financial education to approximately 650 youth and adults in 2011.
Member Assistance Manager
Welch, a CU1 employee for over 17 years, has a bachelor of arts in history from the University of Alaska, Anchorage and multiple certifications from both the Alaska Credit Union League and CUNA. Welch was previously CU1’s Account Recovery Manager (collecting on charged-off accounts) and has received several awards of recognition for his exemplary work.
Account Recovery Manager
Patton, with six years of prior financial institution collection experience, has worked at CU1 since 2009. He has held various positions within the Member Assistance Department, most recently as an Account Recovery Representative.
In their new positions, Casey will oversee and continually review all areas of consumer and real estate lending. Napier will lead the consumer lending team of 35 employees and continue working to expand and review Credit Union 1’s consumer lending programs. Welch will monitor and manage loss and risk from all accounts and loans. Patton will be responsible for the Account Recovery Department including skip tracing and collecting on accounts previously charged off by the credit union as well as following up on claims filed in probate court.
