Rep. Bob Lynn: Honored by Humane Society Award
Anchorage rep. one of 31 chosen as State Legislator of the Year
Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, Juneau, Alaska – Representative Bob Lynn, R-Anchorage, has been selected as one of the Humane Society’s 2010 State Legislators of the Year. The House State Affairs Committee Chair is one of only 31 recipients in the nation and the only award winner from Alaska.
Lynn is being recognized for his efforts during the 26th Alaska Legislature to strengthen the state’s animal cruelty laws. The Humane Society also commends Rep. Lynn for highlighting the connection between animal cruelty and domestic violence and sexual assault.
Lynn released the following statement:
“I am humbled by this honor, and would not have earned it without the hard work of my former staff, Mike Sica, as well as the other sponsors of the animal cruelty bill, Carl Gatto in the House, and Sen. Bill Wielechowski. I hope our efforts will greatly reduce animal cruelty and domestic violence in Alaska.”
