Bristol Firm's Name Change Reflects Engineering Focus
Bristol Environmental & Engineering Services Corporation, a leader in civil engineering, permitting and planning services in Alaska and the Lower 48, has changed its corporate name to Bristol Engineering Services Corporation (Bristol Engineering).
The senior member of the Bristol Alliance of CompaniesTM (Bristol Alliance) was established in 1994 as a wholly owned subsidiary of BBNC; the company was originally called Bristol Environmental Services Corporation. At that time, the company provided environmental consulting services In 2000, civil engineering services were added, and the name was changed to Bristol Environmental & Engineering Services Corporation. This month, the name was changed to Bristol Engineering Services Corporation.
“The name change reflects the company’s focus on engineering, our core service,” said Travis Woods, P.E., Chief Executive Officer. The former Chief Operations Officer has been named as the company’s Chief Executive Officer concurrent with the name change, effective immediately. Mr. Woods, who has been with the firm since 1996, has experience in civil and environmental engineering design and project/construction management. Former CEO Joe Terrell is the company President.
As the first of the Bristol Alliance companies to graduate from the U.S. Small Business Administration’s ANC 8(a) program (in 2004), Bristol Engineering provided the foundation for the other five companies of the Bristol Alliance. Today, the company provides civil engineering, permitting, planning services and total project management. Bristol Engineering recently completed the design and provided construction administration services for a new lined landfill cell at the Anchorage Regional Landfill and is providing planning services for future landfill expansion. Bristol Engineering is also the City Engineer for the communities of Dillingham and Nome, and has an engineering term contract with Homer. During its 17- year history, Bristol Engineering has worked throughout the state with several communities on rural water/wastewater, site design, design build and transportation projects.
