AEA Board Names New Executive Director
Sara Fisher-Goad to Take Helm
(Anchorage) –The Alaska Energy Authority (AEA) Board of Directors announces the appointment of Sara Fisher-Goad as AEA Executive Director. Ms. Fisher-Goad has served as Deputy Director – Operations for AEA and the Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority (AIDEA) since 2006. She begins her duties as AEA’s chief executive officer responsible for leading the Authority’s business and operations immediately.
“Alaska faces great challenges as we chart our course to a more secure energy future,” said AEA Board Chairman Mike Felix. “We are pleased to appoint Sara as AEA’s new Executive Director, and look forward to working with her as AEA continues its vital work for Alaska.”
Ms. Fisher-Goad has been employed with the Authority since November 2000. Before she was named Deputy Director – Operations, Ms. Fisher-Goad worked as financial analyst and acted as legislative liaison coordinating annual budget submissions to the Legislature. Prior to joining the Authority, Ms. Fisher-Goad worked as a project manager for Springsted Incorporated, an independent financial advisory firm in St. Paul, Minnesota. At Springsted, Ms. Fisher-Goad structured bond issues for municipal clients.
Ms. Fisher-Goad received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from University of Alaska Fairbanks, and a Master of Business Administration from University of Alaska Anchorage.
