World's Largest Aircraft to Land at FIA

(FAIRBANKS, Alaska) - The world’s largest commercial cargo aircraft, the Ukrainian-registered Antonov AN 225, will stop at Fairbanks International Airport Tuesday at 10 a.m., and depart at midnight.
The aircraft is arriving from Narita, Japan and departing to Miami en route Port-au-Prince, Haiti, carrying more than 250,000 pounds of earthquake disaster relief equipment.
Compared to a Boeing 747-400’s wingspan of 212-feet and length of 232-feet, the AN 225 measures 290-feet in wingspan and 276-feet in length.
The aircraft will be parked south of the passenger terminal.
