State Employee/Retiree Data Loss Hearing Thursday
Administration to discuss protection steps for 77,000 affected AlaskansWednesday, February 10, 2010, Juneau, Alaska - The House Judiciary Committee will hear from state officials Thursday on aspects of the recently-discovered security breach of personal information affecting 77,000 current and retired state employees. Officials from the Alaska Departments of Administration and Law, the Division of Retirement & Benefits, and the Governor's Office will discuss how the loss occurred, risks to those affected, commitments by the State of Alaska and the company responsible - PriceWaterhouseCoopers, to remedy the situation and protect Alaskans going forward.
The hearing is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 11 at 1:00 p.m. in Capitol Room 120
