Rep. Young Meets with Governor ParnellWashington, D.C. - Alaskan Congressman Don Young met Feb. 23 with Governor Sean Parnell in his Washington, D.C. office where they discussed many issues vital to Alaskans including the risk of socialized medicine, the importance of improving Alaska's infrastructure and the need for a long-term surface transportation bill. Additionally, the Governor stressed his desire to work with other Governors in developing Alaska's vast natural resources and bringing those resources to market.
"I had a very productive meeting with Governor Parnell yesterday and I look forward to working with him to address Alaska's many challenges," said Rep Young. "We share a common bond of being Alaska's lone voice, me in the House of Representatives and he in the National Governors Association. I applaud his desire to work with other Governors and I encourage him to build relationships and friendships, as I have during my Congressional career. That's how we solve problems, that's how we get things done for Alaska."
