AT&T Invites Community to Spark Some Rondy Run
ANCHORAGE, Alaska, Feb. 25, 2010 — AT&T* invites the community to enjoy a spectacular fireworks show over downtown Anchorage Saturday, Feb. 27, at 6:45 p.m. The AT&T Fireworks Extravaganza is highly anticipated as one of the highlights of the annual Fur Rendezvous festival. The fire in the sky will be visible to revelers throughout much of downtown and beyond. Rondy Central at Third Avenue and E Street is a prime viewing location.
“This is a big year for Rondy,” said Anchorage Mayor Dan Sullivan. “Alaska’s favorite winter festival is celebrating 75 years of bringing fun to long winter nights, and the AT&T Fireworks Extravaganza is one of the most eagerly anticipated Rondy events.”
“AT&T’s involvement with Fur Rondy is a great way to support the community,” said Mike Felix, president of AT&T Alaska. “The strong sense of community in Alaska is one of the many reasons so many of our employees love living here, and we welcome the opportunity to be involved in events like this one.”
AT&T’s support of Fur Rendezvous doesn’t end with its sponsorship of the fireworks show. AT&T will be offering free Wi-Fi service in downtown Anchorage throughout the Festival, which runs from Feb. 26 through March 7. AT&T’s hotspots will be located at Town Square Park, on Fourth Avenue near Rondy Headquarters, and on Third Avenue between C and E Streets.
