Numerous Athletes Compete in State Tournament

2017 Special Olympics Alaska Fall Tournament September 9-10

 ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Striving to get closest to the pallina or sinking your putt will be the goal for Special Olympics Alaska athletes competing in the 2017 Special Olympics Alaska Fall Tournament. This tournament will draw nearly 200 athletes, coaches and volunteers to Anchorage September 9-10. The following Alaskan communities will be competing in the Fall Tournament: Anchorage, Homer, Ketchikan, Kodiak, Mat-Su and Fairbanks.

The fall tournament kicks off on Saturday September 9 with two days of Unified Sports® competition. Bocce will begin on Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Special Olympics Alaska Sports, Health and Wellness Center (SOAK SHWC) and golf will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Anchorage Golf Course. The Fall Tournament will conclude with distribution of awards at each venue.

 

Fall Tournament Schedule

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 9

  • 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Bocce Competition SOAK SHWC
  • 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. Golf Competition Anchorage Golf Course

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 10

  • 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. Bocce Competition SOAK SHWC
  • 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. Golf Competition Anchorage Golf Course
