This keynote event will provide on a journey to discover a world filled with lively characters, colorful places and gripping adventures as part of Chad’s quest to clean America’s major rivers. From the darkness of underwater shell diving, to the brightness of a river clean up involving hundreds of volunteers from a local community, Chad’s tale embodies the importance of setting lofty goals, staying determined when the going gets tough and creating a solid team dynamic even in the most difficult of environments. Chad’s sincere enthusiasm creates an uplifting wave for audiences of all ages as he relates his personal convictions and struggles regarding cleaning up America’s rivers.
The Alaska Forum on the Environment is happy to announce that we will again support a showcase of Project Posters this year! We invite interested Agencies, Tribal governments, organizations, researchers, as well as individual participants to submit their projects to be displayed at the Alaska Forum on the Environment. Projects should be current, applicable to the Alaska Forum on the Environment and may utilize photographs, literature, and summary information (no “props” please) on a poster board. Suggested topics include: community recycling projects, innovative clean up projects, invasive species, climate change research, emergency response, environmental regulations, fish and wildlife populations, rural issues, energy, military issues, pollution prevention and contaminants. The 16th annual Alaska Forum on the Environment will be held February 3-7, 2014. The Alaska Forum on the Environment (AFE) is a statewide gathering of environmental professionals from government agencies, non-profit and for-profit businesses, community leaders, Alaskan youth, conservationists, biologists and community elders. The diversity of attendees sets this conference apart from any other. The 2014 event will be the 16th year providing a strong educational foundation for all Alaskan's and a unique opportunity to interact with others on environmental issues and challenges. Over 1,500 people attend AFE to learn more about the environment and meet other Alaskans that work in the environmental field.
