Bean's Cafe Beanie Box Program

Bean’s Café Distributes Gifts to the Homeless

ANCHORAGE – Bean’s Café’s Beanie Box program supplies the needy with winter essentials.

Bean’s Café will be distributing festively decorated shoebox gifts to the homeless and to Anchorage’s poorest people this Friday, December 21 at 1:30pm.

These boxes are sometimes the only gifts that the clients receive and contain practical items, such as hats, gloves, soap, shampoo, combs and other necessities.  Each year, the café distributes 300-500 boxes thanks to the many individuals and companies that purchase items and lovingly assemble each gift.

Bean’s Café collected Beanie Boxes starting around Thanksgiving to mid-December at the 3rd Avenue Bean’s Café, Tastee Freez on Raspberry Road, and for the first time, Wayland Baptist University.  Leftover items will provide supplies for the entire year, making Beanie Boxes truly the gift that keeps on giving.
