Real Time Film and Television Workforce Development Update
As many of you may know, I worked with my colleagues in the Legislature to include $486,000 for Film Television and Workforce Development in the FY12 Capital Budget that was signed by Governor Parnell.
There is good news to report: The State of Alaska, Department of Labor and Workforce Development/Alaska Workforce Investment Board in partnership with the Department of Commerce, Community and Economic Development is holding a public teleconference to hear your input and ideas for the administration of these workforce development dollars.
The teleconference will take place Wednesday, December 28, 2011 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The dial in number is 888-354-0094, followed by the conference ID number 9195355. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the administering of funds allocated for the film and TV industry workforce development.
This is your opportunity to be heard about workforce development. I’ll keep you posted as I learn more details.

P.S. The Legislative Session is fast approaching. Find your State House Representative and make sure that they know you support the 10 year extension of the Alaska Film and Television Production Incentives.
