Meadow Bailey, Public Information Officer with the Northern Region Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, has received the Accredited Public Relations credential through the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). This accreditation is considered the mark of distinction in the public relations field, demonstrating competency and commitment to the profession.
As one of only 21 in Alaska with the APR distinction and approximately 5,000 world-wide, Bailey achieved this professional honor through hours of preparation and study. The accreditation examination process tests 10 groupings of competencies and is administered by a consortium of nine leading public relations organizations. Candidates must submit a comprehensive summary of their professional experience, present a portfolio of work, interview with a panel of public relations professionals and pass a timed computer-based examination.
As a testimony to the vital role public relations plays in society today, Bailey has proven her professional and ethical standard through this accreditation. Bailey is active in PRSA, American Heart Association, Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce, University of Alaska Fairbanks Alumni Association, International Association of Government Communicators, Girl Scouts, PTA, and Fairbanks Youth Soccer. Bailey is married to Bill Bailey, public relations director for FNSBSD. They have two beautiful daughters, Ella and Symone.
