Gov. Issues Statement on CD-5 Permit Approval
December 19, 2011, Juneau, Alaska – Governor Sean Parnell today released the following statement after the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers approved ConocoPhillips’ application for a drill pad in CD-5, which is located west of the Colville River Delta in the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska (NPR-A).
“I commend the Corps for finally moving this vital project forward. The potential new production from the NPR-A can lead to more jobs for Alaskans. Increasing responsible energy production is a national and economic security imperative. We must reduce our dependence on foreign oil.”
