Anchorage School Partnership Program Executive Exchange participants to share their experiences
December 1, 2011 -- The 2011 Anchorage School Business Partnership program's Executive Exchange Event took place throughout the month of November. More than 60 business people from a wide range of industries were paired up with ASD school administrators. The matched pairs were asked to job-shadow in each other's work locations for part of a day.
The objectives were to become more knowledgeable about contemporary successes and challenges in education and business; to discuss the specific needs and demands for a quality education and a well-trained work force in the 21st century; and to develop strategies for Anchorage's business and education communities to work together.
Participants will share their experiences during a luncheon on Tuesday, Dec. 6 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the King Career Center, 2650 E. Northern Lights Blvd. Lunch will be prepared and served by KCC’s Culinary Art students.
The Anchorage School Business Partnership, which began in 1991 as a joint venture between the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce and the Anchorage School District, has grown from 28 businesses to 500 partnerships throughout the city. Partners provide schools with guest speakers, classroom volunteers, on-the-job work experience for students, material and monetary resources, and other special activities.
