AEDC Appoints Ruth Glenn Development Director
ANCHORAGE—The Anchorage Economic Development Corporation recently named Ruth Glenn the new development director for the organization. Glenn will oversee sponsorships, investor relations and event coordination.
“We are thrilled to have Ruth join our organization, especially with her many years of experience in non-profit management and event coordination throughout Anchorage and Fairbanks,” said Bill Popp, president and CEO of AEDC.
Prior to joining AEDC, Glenn ran her own company, G&N Creative. While there she worked with the Alaska State Council on the Arts in coordinating an arts education program that aligned with the Department of Education & Early Development to streamline the grant process for schools and other non-profits. She was also the executive director of Alaska Dance Theatre and led the way in building a new five-studio facility located in Midtown.
Glenn studied modern dance at the University of Utah, where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Glenn moved to Fairbanks in 1978 where she began working at the Fairbanks Art Association and was responsible for grant writing, volunteer coordination, budget preparation and other tasks associated with the art association.
AEDC is a private, non-profit organization developed in 1987 to encourage growth and to diversify the Anchorage economy. The organization has more than 190 investors, which represent all industries in Anchorage and Alaska. For more information, visit www.AEDCweb.com.
