Russian Added to Wells Fargo ATM Language Options, Eight Languages Now Offered
SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 29, 2010 – As Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) continues its merger with Wachovia, creating North America’s most extensive financial services company, customers will now have more language choices at the ATM. Russian language screens have been added to the entire network of over 12,000 machines. Wells Fargo and Wachovia ATM customers will be able to choose to have their transaction screens displayed in one of eight languages – English, Spanish, Chinese, Hmong, Korean, Vietnamese, French and Russian. “Adding Russian language screens to our ATMs is based on customer preference and feedback. It just makes sense as Wells Fargo begins to serve more customers across the country, and will help us better meet their business and personal banking needs,” said Jonathan Velline, head of Wells Fargo ATM Banking and Store Strategy. “Wells Fargo’s vision is to help our customers succeed financially, which includes a commitment to recognizing the cultural preferences of the diverse communities where we do business, and acting upon those desired needs.” Customers who prefer to conduct their transaction in Russian can select this option after inserting their ATM Card in any Wells Fargo ATM. After selecting their language option all future transactions the customer makes will automatically be displayed in their preferred language. In addition to language screen options, Wells Fargo’s You Know Me ATMs remember customers’ most used transactions, for faster, more convenient banking; and:
- offer email receipts to Wells Fargo Online customers;
- allow voice instructions for the visually impaired in English and Spanish;
- sell U.S. postage stamps;
- deliver targeted messages to inform our customers of new products and services that can help them become more financially successful; and
- provide the highest level of transaction security.
