This massive water system, which includes salmon spawning grounds, successfully co-exists with several large copper mines in the area.   



Resource development projects in Alaska face many large roadblocks often diverted through the court system.  While the environmental movement has accomplished many positive standards within the country, some national groups seem to focus more on raising money than cooperative problem solving.  


In a recent presentation at the 2010 Resource Development Council annual conference, John Shively addressed concerns regarding the administrative appeals and litigation structure, "Balancing the Risk Between Developers & NGOs
