Mayor Sullivan names Cynthia Franklin as new Municipal Prosecutor
ANCHORAGE- Mayor Dan Sullivan today named Cynthia Franklin as the new
prosecutor for the Municipality of Anchorage.
Franklin, 46, will oversee the city’s handling of misdemeanor cases occurring
within the city.
Franklin has a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Letters from the University of
Oklahoma and a law degree from Baylor University School of Law. She
previously worked for the city as an attorney in the domestic violence unit. Prior
to joining the city, Franklin worked for the Anchorage district attorney’s office, as
well as the Bell and Bexar County, TX, district attorneys’ offices.
“We are pleased to have someone with Ms. Franklin’s experience and
capabilities join the Municipal team,” said Mayor Dan Sullivan.
Franklin is licensed to practice law in Alaska, Colorado, and Texas and is
admitted to U.S. District Court.
She replaces Al Patterson, who retires Dec. 30.
