Calista Corporation Announces New Communications Manager
Thom Leonard has joined Calista Corporation as communications manager. He coordinates all communications and related activities for the Calista family of companies, working in conjunction with the executive leadership team and the subsidiaries. Leonard is a Shareholder of Calista.
"Leonard brings a solid foundation of communications talent and experience," said President Andrew Guy. "His selection continues Calista's leadership of having the highest Shareholder hire rate of all Alaska Native Corporations."
Leonard grew up in Anchorage and in 1993 graduated from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. He moved to Seattle where he worked for Nintendo of America for over a decade. After moving back to Alaska he served as manager of public relations for Southcentral Foundation, a nonprofit subsidiary of CIRI providing health care services to Alaska Native and American Indian people. Leonard then worked as the relationship director for Chaz Limited Collision Express.

The second largest of the original 13 Native corporations, Calista was established under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971 and represents over 13,000 shareholders.
