Alaska Delegation Announces Grants to Alaska Programs

Washington, D.C. - The Alaska Congressional Delegation is pleased to announce the following grants awarded to communities in the State of Alaska:

National Endowment for the Humanities

·         $6,000 to the City of Fairbanks for Fairbanks Historical Records Preservation Project. Funds are Preservation Assistance Grants.

·         $500,000 to the City of Seward for the Seward Community Library Museum Project. Funds are Challenge Grants.

U.S. Department of Transportation:

·         $270,000 to the Sitka Tribe to continue operations of one existing bus route. Project was selected on a competitive basis through the Tribal Transit Program.

·         $216,470 to the Tetlin Tribe to continue operations of two existing bus routes. Project was selected on a competitive basis through the Tribal Transit Program.

·         $65,427 to Crooked Creek to continue operation of one existing bus route. Project was selected on a competitive basis through the Tribal Transit Program.

·         $25,000 to the Native Village of Unalakleet for tribal public transportation planning. Project was selected on a competitive basis through the Tribal Transit Program.
