Dahlstrom to Rules, Austerman New Majority Whip

Fairbanks - House Speaker Mike Chenault, R-Nikiski, today announced
that Representative Nancy Dahlstrom, R-Eagle River, has been chosen as
the new House Rules Committee Chair. Dahlstrom served as Majority
Whip, a position Rep. Alan Austerman, R-Kodiak, now assumes.

"It's an honor to be able to serve the Alaska State House as Rules
Chair and to work with all of the members," Dahlstrom said. "A good
standard has been set, and I'll do my best to carry that forward."

"I am thankful to be chosen for this influential position," Austerman
said. "The Majority Whip has been a traditional, though inactive,
position in the House until last year when Nancy showed what can be
accomplished. The Whip can be an effective voice within the leadership
structure, working in concert with the Majority Leader."

House Majority Confirms Tammie Wilson

Fairbanks - The Alaska State House Majority Caucus today confirmed
Tammie Wilson as the new representative for House District 11.

"I'm just thrilled and honored to get to work for District 11,"
Wilson said. "I look forward to the challenges ahead."

"We welcome Tammie to the Legislature and will make all efforts to
get her get up to speed on the legislative process prior to session in
January," House Speaker Mike Chenault, R-Nikiski, said. "She received
healthy support from members today and we're also pleased to welcome
her to the Majority Caucus."

"I am pleased to welcome Tammie Wilson to the Caucus," House Majority
Leader Kyle Johansen, R-Ketchikan, said. "I am confident she will
continue the effective leadership from District 11. Her experience
will add to our diverse Caucus membership."

Wilson was appointed by the Governor to fill out the term of former
House Rules Chair John Coghill, who was appointed to the Alaska State
Senate. Wilson currently serves on the Fairbanks North Star Borough
Assembly.

Wilson's committee assignments will be determined shortly.

Judiciary Chair Questions Gov's Office/DNR on Noah Departure

(Fairbanks) - House Judiciary Chair Jay Ramras, R-Fairbanks, today
sent an eight-page letter to the Governor's Office calling into
question the State's efforts at securing a safe, dependable and
deliverable in-state natural gas supply in the wake of In-State Gas
Pipeline Project Coordinator Harry Noah's resignation.

Ramras is concerned about the future viability of the In-State gas
pipeline, and the events leading up to, and surrounding, Mr. Noah's
resignation. Ramras spoke with Mr. Noah following his resignation
announcement and writes in his letter to the Governor that "the
picture I was provided with was unsettling and is in direct
contradiction to your expressed wishes and the wishes of most
Alaskans." Ramras details his informal exit interview and subsequent
conversations with Mr. Noah in the letter, and voices his concern on
major in-state gas policy and the confusing involvement between Mr.
Noah and state officials, including the following five points,
out-lined in the letter, "to illustrate how DNR's (The Dept. of
Natural Resources) approach to In-State Gas is obstructionist:"
