Alaska USA Mortgage Company Receives Guaranteed Housing Loan Program Award
Anchorage, Alaska – Alaska USA Mortgage Company recently received a certificate of appreciation for the second year in a row from the United States Department of Agriculture for being the top volume participating lender of Guaranteed Rural Housing Loans in the Matanuska Valley.
The nationwide program offers mortgage loans based on family size and income to rural residents, affording them the ability to purchase housing for use as a primary residence.
Alaska USA Mortgage Company’s participation with the program through its Palmer and Wasilla offices resulted in affordable homeownership investments of more than $10 million in 2009. This total represents 16 percent of USDA’s Rural Development loans in Alaska.
Alaska USA Mortgage Company was presented with the award in October by Deborah Davis, Director of Rural Housing Programs with the Alaska USDA Rural Development office. Also present was Dallas Tonsager, the Under Secretary of the USDA from Washington, D.C., Jim Nordlund, Alaska State Director of the USDA, and U.S. Senator Mark Begich.
