Two thousand ten is almost here and the AMA Fairbanks 22nd Biennial Conference will soon follow: the Arctic International Mining Symposium.

Technical sessions will focus on mineral deposits, operations, geology, placer deposits, industrial minerals, and related infrastructure projects. Please keep checking our website for more specifics as they develop.

Two short courses will be offered: (1) Alaska Industrial Minerals and Aggregates, and (2) "Placer Mining Methods and Best Practices" ["Placer mining is both a science and an art. To best practice the art, you need to learn and apply the science..." This will cover ground evaluation, earth moving choices, recovery machinery, and legal aspects.]

Nationally acknowledged personalities in the political, educational, and mining industry areas will be speaking at all breakfasts, luncheons, and the closing banquet. Please keep checking our website for specific updates.

Once again we are offering  all-day field trips to two of Alaska's largest gold mines: the Pogo mine near Delta Junction, AK, (including an underground tour,) and a second trip  incorporating both the Fort Knox mine (and its  heap leach project) plus a visit to the nearby Livengood gold deposit where drilling results are already making national and international news. Specific apparel may be required for these tours so check with us before you pack. Space is limited for both unique opportunities-- make your reservations soon!
