WRITING SEMINARS WITH PROFESSOR LEE GOODMAN
The Alaska Writers Guild is offering a series of seminars on writing and the writing process. These seminars will be a mixture of craft-talk, workshop and theory designed for the dedicated and/or aspiring writer. They'll be challenging and enriching, making use of examples from well-known works of literature to illustrate how we can hone and improve our craft. Each seminar will be six hours, taking place over two sessions, three hours each.
Character Development, Plot, the Personal Essay, Beginnings, Good Writing
Initially these seminars will be offered in Anchorage and Wasilla, but other locations may be added. Lee Goodman, holds an MFA in creative writing from Bennington College, and studied fiction in the graduate writing program at Boston University. His work has appeared in The Iowa Review and Orion Magazine. His novel Cliff Nesting is in production at University of Alaska Press. He has taught at University of Alaska Anchorage, University of Alaska Fairbanks, Alaska Pacific University, and he was visiting writer at Interlochen Academy for the Arts.
