The Hard Hat Award is AGC of Alaska’s most prestigious award, according to the organization. It was established by the chapter to recognize an individual who has demonstrated outstanding contributions to the Alaska construction industry.

“In recognition of outstanding service to his fellow Alaskans and the Alaska construction industry the members of the Associated General Contractors of Alaska do hereby proclaim Congressman Don Young to be a member of the Hard Hats, and to be known hereafter by all as “Hard Hat Don,” the members of the Associated General Contractors Of Alaska said when welcoming Don Young to the ranks of distinguished “Hard Hats”."
