Ravn Alaska Supports the 21st Kenai River Classic
Air group donates free flights for a year to support fish habitat restoration
ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Ravn Alaska, formerly Era Alaska, is proud to support the upcoming 21st Kenai River Classic taking place Wednesday, August 20 to Friday, August 22. The three-day fishing event raises funds for habitat restoration and fisheries education, research and management. Sponsoring at the “King” level, Ravn Alaska will contribute an annual pass that allows an individual to fly for free anywhere within the Ravn Alaska system for one year. The pass will be auctioned off at the opening banquet.
“The Kenai River Classic supports several important projects in Alaska, and we are happy to contribute,” said Charlotte Sieggreen, Ravn Alaska marketing manager. “We are very excited to be sponsoring this great event.”
The Kenai River Sportfishing Association hosts the Kenai River Classic, and over the past two decades it has raised more than $14 million through the event. Many prominent members of the community, including 21 Alaska legislators, take part in the Classic’s activities, which are supported by more than 100 volunteers who donate their time, services and auction items each year.
“We’re tremendously grateful for the support of Ravn Alaska,” said Ricky Gease, executive director of the Kenai River Sportfishing Association. “We work to protect and restore critical salmon habitat, and we wouldn’t be here without the generous support of the community.”
Ravn Alaska is the largest regional airline based in the state, offering daily passenger and cargo services to nearly 100 communities across Alaska. All flights operated on Bombardier Dash 8 aircraft feature full in-flight cabin service.
