Pasagshak Road, Kodiak, Closed Past River

(KODIAK, Alaska) – The Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (ADOT&PF) is alerting the public that Pasagshak Road is temporarily closed until further notice past the mouth of the Pasagshak River due to the terminated rocket launch this morning just after 1:00 a.m.

Department of Defense officials are en route to the crash site to survey the damage and make the determination as to when the road may be re-opened.

 The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities oversees 254 airports, 11 ferries serving 35 communities, 5,619 miles of highway and 720 public facilities throughout the state of Alaska. The mission of the department is to “Keep Alaska Moving through service and infrastructure.”
