Mayor Sullivan Appoints New Chief Fiscal Officer
Mayor Sullivan announced today that Chief Fiscal Officer (CFO), Lucinda Mahoney, will be leaving the Municipality of Anchorage, effective September 12, 2014. Kate Giard, a former CFO of the Municipality, will be replacing Ms. Mahoney.
Ms. Giard served as CFO for the Municipality from 2000 until her appointment to the Alaska Regulatory Commission in July 2003; she was reappointed to the commission in 2007 until leaving in 2013 to work in the private sector. Prior to her time as CFO for the Municipality, Ms. Giard worked as a CPA for international public accounting firms.
CFO Lucinda Mahoney said, “I have very much enjoyed my time working for Mayor Sullivan because of his dedication to fiscally responsible policies, while maintaining services at a high level for citizens of Anchorage. I am especially proud of our credit rating increase to AAA provided by Standard & Poor’s. It is reflective of all departments aligning toward a common goal.”
“Lucinda has been an integral part of this administration and the Municipality has been very fortunate to have her expertise,” Mayor Sullivan said. “I would like to extend my sincere gratitude for her service and I wish her well in her new business endeavors. I would also like to welcome Miss Giard back to the Municipality. Her previous service as CFO and her career experiences will serve the Municipality well.”
