Anchorage, Alaska (Aug. 22, 2014) – Jared R. Kirkham, M.D., is the newest doctor to join the team of expert physicians at Alaska Spine Institute, located at 3801 University Lake Drive in Anchorage. Dr. Kirkham’s training is quite vast, including a health and fitness certification from the American College of Sports Medicine, personal training for a comprehensive, multidisciplinary weight loss program at the PRO Sports Club in Bellevue, WA, and the conducting of research on the use of new imaging studies to detect arthritis of the spine. He has also lectured on a variety of topics including the use of platelet-rich plasma for chronic tendinitis.
Dr. Kirkham earned his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Washington. He completed his internship in medicine and surgery at the Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA and his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Utah. While in residency, he performed sports physicals for local high schools and provided physician coverage for local events such as the Salt Lake Marathon.
“My passion is getting our patients back to their sport, back to work, and back to life,” Dr. Kirkham says. “I perform a variety of procedures to ensure patients can return to a healthy and productive life and get back to what they enjoy. Some of these procedures include low back pain injections, nerve studies, trigger point injections and ultrasound guided joint injections.”
