Credit Union 1 Raises $6,000 for Boys & Girls Club of Nome
Nome, AK – August 7, 2014 – During its annual Member Appreciation Day on Tuesday, August 5, Credit Union 1 (CU1) hosted a silent-auction benefit at its Nome Branch to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Nome. The evening event featured items donated by local businesses, and with the generosity of the community, raised $3,000. This amount was matched dollar-for-dollar by CU1, resulting in a donation totaling $6,000.
The Boys & Girls Club of Nome is funded solely through grants and donations. Its doors are open to Nome's youth, providing a safe environment for them to learn and grow and an opportunity to build positive ongoing relationships with adults that care. They encourage positive character development through life enhancing programs, instruction, role modeling and new experiences.
