Ahtna Announces New Chief Financial Officer


Anchorage, Alaska – Ahtna, Incorporated is pleased to announce that William “Matt” Tisher has joined the Ahtna management team as Chief Financial Officer.

Matt joins Ahtna from the Ukpeaġvik Iñupiat Corporation (UIC), an Alaska Native Village Corporation with $300 million in revenues and over forty subsidiaries. While at UIC, he performed at the executive level providing internal and external financial reporting, planning, budget development, business plans, due diligence on investments, banking compliance, and relationships with banks and external auditors. Prior to UIC, Matt was the CFO at Adak Fisheries and Coastal Villages Regional Fund. Matt brings a wealth of financial experience and Ahtna is very excited to have him joining the corporation.

Matt said upon accepting the offer, “I am excited about the opportunity to join the Ahtna team. One of my goals is to help grow Ahtna so that we can comfortably afford to distribute several million dollars a year to our shareholders for generations to come without affecting the company’s continued growth.”

Matt was raised in Alaska and is married to Cynthia Tisher, a Bristol Bay Native Corporation shareholder. He loves spending time with his daughter, traveling, playing sports, fishing and camping.

Ahtna, Incorporated is one of 13 Alaska Native Regional Corporations formed under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971, and is based out of Glennallen, Alaska.
