Homer, Alaska wins Google's 2013 eCity award

We're excited to announce that Google has named Homer as their 2013 eCity. From Google's website: "The Google eCity Award recognizes the strongest online business community in each state. Google and independent research firm Ipsos MORI analyzed the online strength of local small businesses in cities in all fifty states. The city with the highest scores in each state was designated a 2013 Google eCity."

What does this mean at the Homer Chamber? We're at "the end of the road" so our businesses have had to get savvy about ways to  draw visitors to our fair city and get customers into their businesses. One of the things our Chamber provides its members is that even those businesses that don't have a website of their own, when they become members they get a "landing page" on the Chamber's website, so they do have a searchable presence on the Web.
