Fairbanks International Airport is pleased to announce "Early Aviation in Fairbanks" display
Fairbanks International Airport wishes to express its appreciation to Steve Heckman, Pete Haggland, Alaska Film Archives, Pioneer Air Museum, Pioneer Park Museums, and UAF, for volunteering and completing the “Early Aviation in Fairbanks” display in the passenger terminal between gates 1 and 2. The display includes a continuously playing film entitled “Centennial of Fairbanks Aviation History”, model aircraft, plaques of Will Rogers and Ben Eielson, and a Wien stewardess uniform, among other things. Please look for this informative and wonderful display next time through the passenger terminal.
The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities oversees 254 airports, 11 ferries serving 35 communities, 5,619 miles of highway and 720 public facilities throughout the state of Alaska. The mission of the department is to Keep Alaska Moving through service and infrastructure.
