Bean's Cafe receives $10,000 grant from Verizon Foundation

Anchorage, Alaska - August 20, 2013 - Bean's Café, Inc. a local nonprofit that has been serving meals to the needy in Anchorage since 1979 and would like to announce that it has been awarded a $10,000 grant from the Verizon Foundation. This funding is to support the feeding and sheltering of those in need in Anchorage this year.

“Verizon Wireless just opened an Anchorage office and began offering 4G LTE data service in the Alaska market. Organizations that share their success make stronger communities by helping to solve problems,” said Demian Voiles, Verizon VP for Alaska. “That’s the Verizon approach and we are eager to help Bean’s Café make Alaska even better.”  

Lisa Sauder, Bean’s Café executive director says, “Beans Café is thrilled to be a recipient of a grant from the Verizon Foundation.  Their support of local programs to help those in need is much appreciated.”
