2014 Rondy Pin Design to be Unveiled
Anchorage, AK: The 2014 Fur Rondy pin design will be unveiled this Friday, Sept. 6, at our First Friday art gathering from 5pm to 7pm at the Fur Rondy Shop. The design is by artist Tara Gildow. A tradition since the early days of Rondy, the pins are an integral part of the annual festival.
Additional artists and musicians will also be on hand to help ring in fall. They include birch bark carver Marie Motschman, photographer Phil Pringle, potter Shannon Brown and Alaska Main Squeeze, an accordion group featuring Rondy board president John McCleary.
Dog musher Bob Sexton will also join us at 4th Avenue and D Street with a sled dog or two. Have your picture taken with his pup on an authentic sled; fur coats are available to wear for photos.
The First Friday event at the Fur Rondy Shop at 4th and D is from 5pm-7pm, Sept. 6. Please join us!
