REAP Hosts 8th Annual Alaska Renewable Energy Fair
What: The Renewable Energy Alaska Project (REAP) will host the 8th annual Alaska Renewable Energy Fair Saturday, August 11 on the downtown parkstrip between G and I Streets. The event will feature demonstrations on solar and wind energy, informational booths and expert presentations on a wide array of energy topics including Railbelt wind power, Cook Inlet tidal power and energy efficiency retrofits.
This free event will also feature live music, food and craft vendors, children’s activities and a beer garden.
Who: Experts from across the state will offer 20 in-depth presentations on renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in Alaska, including:
- Doug Johnson, Ocean Renewable Power Company – “Cook Inlet Tidal Power"
- Rich Stromberg & Kirk Warren, Alaska Energy Authority – “Railbelt Wind Power”
- Wayne Dyok, Alaska Energy Authority – “Susitna Watana Hydropower”
- Nick Horras, Chugach Electric Association – “Taking Charge of Your Energy Use”
When: Saturday, August 11th from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm
Where: Anchorage parkstrip between G & I Street (across I Street from the Governor’s Picnic)
