PALMER, ALASKA - August 28, 2012 — Stage 2 Studios, LLC today announced the company will be exhibiting their upcoming video game Lifeless Planet at PAX Prime in Seattle, Washington beginning Friday. The exhibit will be hosted by Kickstarter, the crowd funding website which helped provide start-up funds for the game.
In addition, Stage 2 has just released a new gameplay trailer featuring footage from Lifeless Planet. The trailer highlights some of the game’s puzzle elements as well as the interaction between the player and “Aelita,” a mysterious female character encountered by the game’s astronaut protagonist. Aelita helps guide the player across the vast alien planet via the strange green tracks she leaves behind, and later in the game through direct interaction with the player.

“Exhibiting at PAX will mean huge exposure for Lifeless Planet,” said David Board, the game’s designer. “I’m delighted that Kickstarter chose to include us in their official exhibit space. PAX exhibit booths sold out almost overnight, and I wouldn’t have been able to exhibit without their generosity.”
Lifeless Planet was recently selected for Lunarcade, an independent game festival in Sydney, Australia. The game appeared along with other notable indie titles such as the recent hit, “Dear Esther.”

In addition, the game project garnered 625 pre-orders, making it the most popular action-adventure game at the time on Kickstarter. Stage 2 later secured Lifeless Planet will be a third-person cinematic sci-fi action-adventure which takes players on a journey across the galaxy to an Earth-like planet. The game is slated for release on PC and Mac by the end of the year.
