Apache, CIRI announce Cook Inlet agreement
ANCHORAGE – Apache Corp. and Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI) have announced an agreement to explore for oil and natural gas on the native corporation’s acreage in the Cook Inlet Basin of Alaska.
The agreement brings Apache’s Cook Inlet holdings to more than 1 million acres onshore, in tidal areas and offshore leased from private mineral owners, the state of Alaska, the Alaska Mental Health Trust and CIRI. Apache currently is acquiring and evaluating new 3-D seismic and plans to drill its first well in the area later in 2012.
