Alaska Business Forum Presents: Emissions Control Area (ECA) Effects on Alaskan Trade

Alaska Business Forum Presents:

Emissions Control Area (ECA) Effects on Alaskan Trade

The September program of the Seattle Chamber of Commerce’s Alaska Business Forum will focus on the new EPA Emissions Control Area (ECA) restrictions which will affect all shipping to Alaska.

The ECA regulations are set to take effect on August 1, 2012 and will mandate that vessel operators reduce emissions within 200 miles of all coasts in the U.S. and Canada.  These new emissions rules may dramatically impact the cost and nature of service to Alaska for both freight and passengers.  Join us on Sept. 13 for a discussion on how vessel operators will respond to these new requirements.
