The new section highlights how volunteerism can fit into an organization’s business model, how to start a conversation about volunteerism and how to plan for a volunteer program. Mark Dobosz, Executive Director for The SCORE Foundation, says, “New and growing nonprofits can benefit from expertise and resources that small businesses use to succeed. This guide from SCORE and the Office Depot Foundation can help nonprofits plan for success and implement an effective volunteer program.” Dobosz adds, “Thanks to the Office Depot Foundation, SCORE can expand our reach and provide valuable information and tools for nonprofits.” “Nonprofit organizations play a vital role in providing the safety net for people in need – and we are committed to helping these organizations operate as efficiently and effectively as possible,” says Mary Wong, president of the Office Depot Foundation. “We appreciate the opportunity to partner with SCORE in the creation of this extremely helpful resource.” The guidebook includes a description of the Office Depot Foundation’s Caring Connection online volunteer resource program, which encourages and enables people throughout the United States to find volunteer opportunities in their communities.
