Murkowski: Open Season Marks Important Milestone for Gas Pipeline
WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, today released the following statement on the completion of the first open season for an Alaska natural gas pipeline.
"I'm pleased to hear that companies have for the first time issued bids to finally send Alaska's natural gas to market," Murkowski said. "This is an important milestone in a long process. I congratulate those who have been working to keep this process competitive and call on the Obama administration to unlock Alaska's full natural gas potential by removing the road blocks placed on developing our resources in the Beaufort and Chukchi seas, NPR-A, and ANWR."
Murkowski is the top Republican on the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.
