Multiple Transportation Modes Planned for MTAB Meeting(JUNEAU, Alaska) - The Alaska Marine Transportation Advisory Board (MTAB) and officials from the Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS) will use various transportation modes when they travel to Cordova Aug. 25 for the board's next meeting.
Board members from various Alaska communities such as Dutch Harbor in the west to Southeast Alaska's Angoon will hold the meeting in Cordova at the public library beginning at 9 a.m.
MTAB and AMHS members will travel to Anchorage where they will board an Alaska Railroad train to Whittier. In Whittier, the group will take the fast vehicle ferry Chenega to Cordova.
Some of the board's agenda items scheduled for discussion include a fleet-wide update regarding vessel and terminal maintenance, marketing strategy progress and a possible new, three year schedule.
