Fox Island Day Lodge Renovation Complete
Seward, AK: The renovation project at Kenai Fjords Tours’ Day Lodge on Fox Island was completed in May, 2010. The new day lodge accommodates 300 guests with a larger kitchen, gift shop, and open floor plan where all guests can easily view the large screen for the Park Ranger Presentation.Located 12 nautical miles from Seward on Fox Island in Resurrection Bay, the day lodge provides Kenai Fjords Tours guests with a truly remote island experience while on a convenient Wildlife and Glacier Day Cruise. Guests enjoy a complimentary all-you-can-eat Prime Rib and Wild Alaska Salmon Buffet at the day lodge. They can also feast on a ½ pound of Alaska king crab for only $ 8. Those seeking more adventure can also enjoy a guided kayak tour while on the island. “Completing a renovation project on a remote island is quite the feat,” said Dan McDonald, Director of Marine Operations for Kenai Fjords Tours. “The equipment and supplies for the renovation were transported by boat and the project was interrupted by a typical large snowfall in the spring. We are pleased with the results and the positive reviews from our customers, who enjoy the open atmosphere and convenient traffic flow of the new lodge. The demand for private events on Fox Island is growing, and several corporations have held private company events at the island this season. We are pleased to have completed this expansion to meet the growing needs of our customers.” Kenai Fjords Tours is the original tour operator since 1974 and is a subsidiary of CIRI Alaska Tourism Corporation (CATC). Alaska Native owned and operated, CATC is the umbrella company for Alaska Heritage Tours, Kenai Fjords Tours, Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge, Mariah Tours, Prince William Sound Glacier Cruises, Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge, and Seward Windsong Lodge.
