DOT&PF Coordinating Taylor Highway Convoys to Access Eagle
The Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities is coordinating round trip convoys on the Taylor Highway between Eagle and the Top of the World Highway junction at milepost 95. Convoys will run roundtrip once daily on Tuesday, Aug. 31, Wednesday, Sept. 1 and Thursday, Sept. 2.
The convoy schedule is as follows:
- Leaving Eagle at 8 a.m. and traveling to the junction of the Top of the World Highway, milepost 95.
- Leaving the junction of the Top of the World Highway, milepost 95 at 12 p.m. and traveling to Eagle.
Vehicles in the convoy traveling between Eagle and the junction of the Top of the World Highway will be limited to passenger vehicles and pick-up trucks only. No trailers will be permitted at this time.
These are the only convoys into, and out of, Eagle scheduled at this time and they coordinate with the convoys between Chicken, milepost 67, and the junction of the Top of the World Highway. Convoy schedules are weather dependent and may be canceled due to weather or road conditions.
The Taylor Highway, north of Chicken, is closed Aug. 27-28 for scheduled construction activities.
