DOT&PF Adjusts Hours of Operation for the Lakina River Bridge– The Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (DOT&PF) is adjusting vehicle operating hours on the Lakina River Bridge, milepost 44.3 on McCarthy Road. The bridge is now open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., beginning today.
Load limits on the bridge remain at a maximum of 6,000 pounds. Most passenger cars and light duty pick-up trucks are less than 6,000 pounds. The curb weight of a vehicle can be found on the manufacturer’s web site or by calling the dealer. A DOT&PF employee is stationed at the bridge during operating hours to monitor the size of loads crossing the bridge.
DOT&PF is working on permanent repairs to the Lakina River Bridge. DOT&PF expects the bridge repairs to be completed in September. The bridge is about 15 miles from McCarthy.For updates call 511 or visit 511.alaska.gov .
