Anch Chamber Hires New Staff
Business organization welcomes Brenda Hansen and Beth Allen
ANCHORAGE- The Anchorage Chamber of Commerce welcomes two new staff members to its team: Brenda Hansen and Beth Allen.
Hansen was recently hired as the Anchorage Chamber's new administrative assistant, the first point-of-contact for members, callers and Anchorage Chamber visitors. She will handle calls and e-mails from people around the world, and provide administrative support to the president and staff.
Hansen worked for several years in the tourism and hospitality industry, including souvenir sales, hotel lodging and event planning. She has lived and worked in Anchorage for the last 15 years.
"I love sharing the hidden treasures of Anchorage and setting the record straight on myths," Hansen said. "I still find new and interesting things everyday that make me so proud to live here."
Allen joined the Anchorage Chamber as the new membership services and events coordinator, responsible for the coordination of a number of Anchorage Chamber events and programs. Allen will be the staff liaison and for the Anchorage Chamber Military Committee and Ambassador Council. She will also be the primary event coordinator for the annual Gold Pan Awards, "Get on Board with the Anchorage Chamber" train ride, and monthly Brown Bag Lunch and Business After Hours programs.
A new Alaskan, Allen previously worked in commercial and residential real estate in North Carolina.
"I joined the Anchorage Chamber because I believe in the city of Anchorage, its people and its culture," Allen said. "To have the opportunity to help its continued growth will be a great adventure."The Anchorage Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit, member-driven business organization with more than 1,200 members representing 70,000 employees.
